A lot of people wonder why cemeteries could be haunted. Let me share my beliefs as to why I think cemeteries are haunted.
The first question brought to mind when most people think about haunted cemeteries is: Why are they haunted? The person who has passed away does not have any physical connection with the cemetery. While this is true, I feel the need to shed some light on this.
I think spirits of the people who have passed away roam their resting place in hopes of finding their bodies. Especially those spirits who have not accepted their deaths, and those who are confused (do not know they have passed). G.P.S. has investigated many cemeteries. And during our investigations we find that most of the spirits we capture on EVP are more residual than intelligent. However, we have experienced intelligent hauntings as well. For instance...
There is a cemetery that we have investigated a few times, where the spirit in question, a little girl, loved communicating with Jack. She very much loved him, and we even believe that she followed us home. She was a very kind, and loving spirit. She was also buried next to her parents. We never did find out how she passed away. But she knew she was passed, and she was just looking for some attention.
A lot of people/teams feel it is wrong to investigate cemeteries. They believe it disturbs their resting spot, and is disrespectful. The way I see it is: It is only disrespectful if you go into the cemetery with bad intentions. When we conduct investigations at cemeteries, we always make clear when entering that we are in no way, shape or form there to disrespect, or harm any spirits that might be there. We always go in with nothing but respect. I will say that if one of us gets attacked, or hurt in any way by any spirit there, we will try to find out who did it. But then again, who wouldn't? We always treat spirits like we would want to be treated.
So, can cemeteries be haunted? Yes. But then again, doesn't every location have the chance of being paranormally active?
